Sino’s first tournament of 2016/17 season will be hosted in Hangzhou this Saturday, October 22nd. 10 teams from all over East China will come to play: Hangzhou, Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, Yiwu, Wuhan, Changzhou. 2 women’s and 15 men’s games will be run. Hangzhou Harlequins attended 2 World Rugby Coaching Courses this summer. Level 1 was held in Wuhan and Level 2 in Shanghai. Level 1. Wuhan. 25-26 June 2016. Last weekend, Hangzhou had the opportunity to host the concluding chapter on the Sino 10’s League for 2015. All 7 teams competed, with Hangzhou even fielding two sides named Harlequins Pink and White. The weather turned out to be pretty gloomy but not too cold, so the supporters were happy. Over last weekend the Nanjing Rockets hosted their own 10’s tournament for the Sino 10’s League. Unfortunately, the sky was bleak and grey and the ground soaked from the heavy storms the night before., nontheless the Harlequins were ready for a big day of rugby. With the spread of Rugby across the globe, school youth teams are popping up everywhere. Here in Hangzhou there is progress in development of the sport in local middle schools, with atleast four of them having rugby practice.
